Cyber Defense vs Huntress: a product you resell, or people who run it

Partners searching for a Huntress alternative are usually asking one of two different questions. Some want a cheaper agent on the endpoint. Others have worked out that the product was never the missing piece — the missing piece is someone to work the alerts at 2am under their own logo. Huntress answers the first question well, and publishes its per-unit rates on its own pricing page while doing it. Cyber Defense answers the second, and only through partners: we never sell direct and never meet your customer.

Dimension Cyber Defense Huntress Edge
What you are buying Delivery capacity. Our analysts run monitoring, triage and escalation on the tenant, and the work comes back in your template with your name on it. Licensed products with a vendor-run service attached, bought per unit and resold by you. EVEN
Whose name the customer sees Yours, on every ticket, report and call. We have no direct sales team that could ever appear in front of your customer, because we have no direct sales team at all. Huntress is a named product inside the stack you sell. Confirm their branding rules with them before you quote a service under your own name. OURS
Published prices A monthly unit per service, published in full at cyberdefense.co.th/pricing — the list price your customer pays and the partner price you pay, on the same row, with the partner margin stated as 25%. Real numbers, published on their own pricing page and checked on 4 September 2026: at the 100-unit tier, 7.99 USD per endpoint per month for Managed EDR, 3.50 USD per log source per month for Managed SIEM and 1.75 USD per learner per month for awareness training, with volume steps. Read the rate for your own volume off their page rather than off ours. THEIRS
Coverage shape Managed SOC, managed EDR operations on the agent you already sell, exposure management, leak detection, penetration testing, detection engineering, awareness, code review, onboarding, an incident response retainer and OT monitoring. Managed EDR, ITDR, SIEM, SAT, ISPM and ESPM — endpoint and identity first, one agent per endpoint. EVEN
Depth on the endpoint We operate the EDR you already sell. We do not build one, and we will not ask you to replace the one you have. Endpoint is their core product and their own agent. We do not build one, so on that axis they are simply deeper than we are. THEIRS
What sets the unit cost We operate on zcr, the platform we build ourselves, so one detection rule runs a single query across every tenant and your twentieth customer costs us almost nothing extra. Per-unit licensing that scales linearly with what you deploy. Predictable, and it never gets structurally cheaper. OURS
Fit with Thai regulation Our log retention system is certified to Thai standard มศอ. 4003.1-2560 (NECTEC) for computer traffic data retention under the Computer Crime Act, delivered in Thai and English from Bangkok on UTC+7. We found nothing published on their own site about Thai traffic data retention. If your customer is audited against it, ask them directly rather than taking our word for it. OURS
Where they win

When you should choose Huntress instead

If one of these is your situation, take it seriously and buy the other thing. We would rather lose the deal than be the wrong line on your price list.

  1. Your business is SMB endpoint security and you want one agent, one rate you can read off a public page, and a quote you can build in an afternoon.
  2. You already have people who can triage an alert and the only thing missing is a product for them to run.
  3. Your customers buy on a recognisable vendor name and a reference list they can check for themselves — something a product company can give you and an invisible operator cannot.
  4. You want identity coverage packaged as a product — ITDR and ISPM — rather than as work somebody performs for you.
  5. Billing predictability matters more to you than the unit price. Huntress publishing its rates is worth real money when you are pricing a portfolio, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Verdict

What a partner should actually do

These two are not substitutes, and plenty of partners should buy both. Huntress is a product company: you resell it and you operate it. Cyber Defense is an operator: there is nothing to resell, only work delivered under your brand. The test is which half of the gap you are standing in. If the people are already yours, buy the platform — from Huntress, or from zcr.ai if you want multi-tenant economics. If the people are not yours, no rate card fixes that, and the cheapest agent on the market still leaves the 2am queue unattended.

FAQ

Questions partners ask before they commit

Is Cyber Defense a Huntress alternative?

Only for the half of the problem that is about people. Huntress sells software with a service attached; Cyber Defense sells the service and has no software of its own to resell. If you are replacing an EDR agent, we are not the answer. If you are replacing the analyst you were about to hire, we are.

Can I sell Huntress under my own brand?

That is a question for Huntress, and their answer will be more current than ours. What we can state is our own side: Cyber Defense delivers exclusively under partner brands, never sells direct and does not contract with the end customer. That is the whole company, not a programme tier you have to qualify for. The single published exception is the emergency line, which is answered for anyone who calls it and then routed to a partner.

Where can I see Cyber Defense prices?

Every managed service has a published rate at cyberdefense.co.th/pricing, in two columns: the list price your customer pays and the partner price you pay, which is list minus 25%. The units differ by service — per endpoint, per domain, per site, per engineer day, per repository — so read the unit next to the number. Huntress is right that published pricing is an advantage, and it publishes its own rates too — open the pricing page of every vendor on your shortlist and see which ones show you a number instead of a contact form.

Do you need access to my customer's systems?

Cyber Defense needs access for some services and none at all for others. Managed Exposure and Managed Leak Detection install nothing and need no credentials, so a customer can be live the same week you sell it. Managed SOC needs telemetry reaching the tenant, and that part is a deployment.

We already run Huntress. Is there anything left for you to do?

A partner already running Huntress usually still has work for Cyber Defense, and that is the common case. Detection engineering, penetration testing, exposure management, leak detection and an incident response retainer sit outside an EDR product entirely. Buying tooling from one vendor and delivery from another is a normal shape, not a compromise.
